Christine Mary Vincik Baumann
Christine Mary Vincik Baumann, a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at 8:25 p.m. in the Regency Manor nursing home in Floresville at the age of 92 years and 12 days. Christine was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Poth, the daughter of Jacob John and Agnes Zak Svoboda Vincik.
She married Emanuel August “Mike” Baumann on Aug. 30, 1939, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville. Mike, Christine’s beloved husband of more than 60 years, preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2000. Christine was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Agnes Vincik; her brothers, George Vincik, Pete Vincik, and Milton Vincik; and her sister, Lillie Creech.
Christine is survived by her children, Richard John Baumann and wife Judy, Janice Jean Moczygemba and husband Raymond, and Michael Alton Baumann and wife Mary; her grandchildren, Richard Lee Baumann and wife Lisa, Edward A. Baumann, Shawna Marie Baumann, Dawn Denise Baumann, Corwin Scot Moczygemba and wife Margie, Daryl Ray Moczygemba and wife Shanna, Michelle Lynn Hickey and husband Jason, and Michael Alton Baumann Jr. and wife Anna; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Vincik, and her sister, Molly Ecker.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 5 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with Father Andrzej Waszczenko officiating.
Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason Hickey, Mitchell Baumann, Richard Lee Baumann, Michael Baumann, Corwin Moczygemba, and Daryl Moczygemba.
