Margaret ‘Mage’ Luna

Margaret “Mage” Luna passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 87 years and 18 days. She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Floresville, the daughter of Federico and Margarita Luna. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville and a member of the Senior Citizens Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Federico “Fred” Luna and Louis Castro; and her sisters, Teresa Martinez and Lupe Castro.

Mage is survived by her son, Richard Luna and wife Olda of San Antonio; her sisters, Filomena Martinez, Janie Martinez, and Mary Green; her brother, Alfredo Castro; her grandchildren, Joshua, Sara, and Ashley; her niece, JoAnn Luna Billa; her great-niece and -nephew, Jennifer and Anthony Billa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 12, at 5 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Rueben Martinez, David Martinez, Louis Castro, Jose Rodriguez, Tom Ortiz, and Jacob Gaona.
