Offer condolences


Albert Adolph Sralla, loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered the gates of heaven Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, in his residence in Floresville at the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 20 days. Albert was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Floresville, the son of Sophia Zak and Lukas Sralla Jr.

He married Viola Merecka on Dec. 30, 1951, in Floresville. Viola, Albert’s beloved wife of more than 53 years, preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 2005.

Albert is survived by his loving children, Leonard Sralla and wife Chayo of Corpus Christi, Dorene Sralla and husband David Kemp of Bandera, Tim Sralla and wife Brenda of Fort Worth, and Jeff Sralla and partner Gerald Gafford of Austin; his daughter-in-law, Lynette Sralla; five wonderful grandchildren; one step-grandson; one great-granddaughter; and his brothers, Henry Sralla and wife Gussie of Floresville, and Victor Sralla and wife Sylvia of Floresville.

Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 9, at 5 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with Father Stefan Wiera officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125.
