On Friday, Jan. 6, the Stockdale senior class took a field trip to the Alamodome in San Antonio. There, they visited the Army Strong Zone, where they learned about the new technology used by the U.S. Army.

The students were also able to participate in exhibit interactions such as virtual target shooting and strength-building activities such as rock wall climbing and pull-up competitions. The students learned about team building, the ROTC program helping students pay for college, and much more. The students were also able to sit through a conference where they learned about different soldiers that are just like you and me.

This was a great opportunity for students to learn not only about the U.S. Army, but also themselves. The students came back with many souvenirs and a new understanding of the Army.

Junior Journalist Courtney Trout is a senior at Stockdale High School. The daughter of Jeff and Rhonda Trout, Courtney has a sister, Carley. She is a member of the FCA and National Honor Society, and plays golf. She plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio.
