Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, one of God’s angels went home. Alma Lucille Wiley was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Angleton (Brazoria County), Texas, to A. R. Bill and Eunice West Wiley.

Lucille was married to Robert Harold Lynn Dec. 7, 1946, in Seguin in Guadalupe County. Their lifelong residence has been in Stockdale, on land they purchased shortly after their marriage. To this union two children were born, Robert Harold “Bobby” and Alene. Her days were filled with making a wonderful home for her family. Lucille spent her entire life in service to God. Mom’s gentle, kind spirit and her intense love for her family were the hallmark of her life, her family said. Even though Alzheimer’s tried to claim her mind and body, she never lost the ability to bless everyone with her loving heart. Mom epitomized the characteristics of a godly woman -- gracious, content, calm, kind, hospitable, a true lady in every sense of the word. Many will remember the times spent in her home and all the wonderful food she prepared. Mom leaves behind a huge legacy and an incredibly empty place in our hearts, all the while knowing she is in a far better place.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Faye Beth; her sister, Inez Dixon Seiler; and her son, Bobby Lynn, whom she dearly loved.

Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold Lynn; and her daughter, Alene Quinney and husband Marvin; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Lynn; her sister, Opal Schwarzkopf; her brothers, Chester Wiley and wife Mary Nell, and A.R. Wiley Jr. and wife Lydia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Robert Lynn and wife Carrie, Loretta Lynn Orr and husband Michael, Roy Lynn, Pat Quinney, and Lexi Quinney; and her great-grandchildren, Randy Lynn, Jillian, Joy, Joshua, and Jaycee Orr, and Wyatt and Coltyn Lynn.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Stockdale Bilingual Church of Christ with Minister Wayne Dedear officiating.

A committal service will be conducted in the Nockenut Cemetery in Wilson County immediately following the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers will be her much-loved nephews, Maurice Dixon, John Schwarzkopf, Marty Schwarzkopf, Chuck Wiley, Mitchell Wiley, Mark Lynn, and Michael Lynn.
