ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Alvin “Allen” Joseph Sekula, a lifelong resident of Cestohowa, Texas, entered eternal rest Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at 11:56 a.m. in his residence in Cestohowa at the age of 57 years, 2 months, and 7 days. Allen was born Nov. 8, 1954, in Floresville, the son of Henry and Theresa Dziuk Sekula.

After graduation from Poth High School, Allen owned and operated Alvin Sekula Construction Co. for many years. Allen married Shirley Skloss on Sept. 17, 1977, in Kosciusko. He loved deer hunting and was a champion washer thrower.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Theresa Sekula, formerly of Cestohowa; his brother, Irvin Sekula, formerly of San Antonio; his brother-in-law, Joe Olinick, formerly of San Antonio; his father-in-law, Emil Skloss, formerly of Kosciusko; and his niece, Dana Barkley.

Allen is survived by his beloved wife of more than 34 years, Shirley Sekula of Cestohowa; his precious children, Stephanie Sekula, Adam Sekula, and Anthony Sekula, all of Cestohowa; his sisters, Lorene Olinick of San Antonio, Evelyn Meyer and husband Newton of San Antonio, Marilyn Mosmeyer and husband Kenneth of Floresville, and Vernell Kline and husband Craig of Cestohowa; his brother, Raymond Sekula and wife FloyDean of Hot Springs, Ark.; his sister-in-law, Agnes Gawlik and husband Lambert of San Antonio; and his mother-in-law, Susie Skloss of Kosciusko. He is also survived by siblings-in-law Leon Skloss and wife Linda of San Antonio, MaryAnn Barkley and husband Cliff of Buda, Bobby Skloss and wife Anita of Floresville, Lucy Skloss of San Antonio, Betty Moczygemba and husband Lambert of Cestohowa, Lambert Skloss and wife Robi of Floresville, Larry Skloss and wife Bonnie of Kosciusko, and Nancy Waclawczyk and husband David of Floresville; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and -nieces, and great-great-nephews and --niece.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m. in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa. A rosary was recited Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., led by Father Grzegorz Szewczyk, S.D.S.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the church with Father Andrzej Waszczenko officiating.

Interment followed in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in Cestohowa.

Serving as pallbearers were Ronnie Olinick, Christopher Kline, Thomas Kline, Barth Moczygemba, Lambert Skloss, Larry Skloss, Jeff Sekula, and Nathan Skloss.
