Helen Ybarbo Trevino, a lifelong resident of Karnes County, Texas, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at 9:06 p.m. in the Regency Manor nursing home in Floresville at the age of 100 years, 2 months, and 30 days. Helen was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Karnes County, the daughter of Leonardo and Lena Cordova Ybarbo.

Helen was a homemaker and worked in the cafeteria and maintenance at the Falls City schools for many years. She married Coney Trevino in Karnes City. Helen was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Coney Trevino; her three brothers; and her two sisters.

Helen is survived by her children, Hilda Villanueva of San Antonio, Adolph Trevino and wife Carrie of San Antonio, Delia Saenz and husband Lefty of Port Lavaca, and Eva Chapa of Falls City; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her one surviving brother, Dan Perez of San Antonio.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the church, with Father Gabriel Kamienski officiating.

Interment followed in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Falls City.

Serving as pallbearers were Michael Trevino, Andrew Saenz, Steve Rivas, Steven Wright, Ruben Villanueva, and Roland Villanueva.
