1924-2012

Richard “Cy” Seibert, 87, of Floresville, Texas, left for motorcycle heaven on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. Cy was born in Iowa on Jan. 28, 1924.

He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and served his country in the Pacific, serving more than 20 years. Cy then went on to the old San Francisco Mint.

Cy is best remembered as a very independent man with a quick smile and salty joke for everyone he saw and met. He was a motorcycle rider for most of his life, along with being a dune buggy racer in his day. Cy was a member of the Gypsy Motorcycle Club for many years and brought the Aardvark Rally to Floresville, to the joy of many businesses and town residents. Remember the light parades?

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay, his bride of more than 50 years.

Cy is survived by a sister, Dorothy of Des Moines, Iowa; his daughter, Katherine of Tyler; three grandchildren, Robert, Glenn, and Jeniffer; a great-grandson, Caleb; and a great-granddaughter, Kelly.

His family and friends will miss Cy deeply, but wish him well on his new adventures with Kay. They are probably having a wonderful time, together again on the motorcycle, on their new journey, his family said.
