The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office is seeking candidates for the position of an Administrative Assistant. Duties will include but not limited to: answering incoming calls and greeting visitors, prepare discovery for defense bar as required, providing administrative and clerical support to the ADAs and District Attorney, assist in general office work and perform related duties as follows: Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard, proficient use of software applications and computer equipment, scanning and compiling files for eDiscovery, filing and creating court files, generating reports as required. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of administrative assistant experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Rosemarie Jean “Jeannie” Curnow, 43, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, after a courageous 22-month battle with cancer. Jeannie went to be with her Lord in her home in Floresville, Texas, surrounded by her family. Jeannie was born June 11, 1968, in San Antonio.

Jeannie touched the lives of many people with her humor, smile, and positive attitude.

She was welcomed into heaven by her grandfather, Frederick Wright; her stepfather, Morris Ritchie; and her father-in-law, Fred Curnow Sr.

Jeannie is survived by her husband, Fred; her daughter, Megan; her parents, Rosemarie Ritchie and Richard Jackson; her brother, Rick Parker; and her sister, Yvette Maris. She also has many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 27, from 5-9 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Mission Park Burial Park South in San Antonio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Therapy & Research Center, UT Health Science Center San Antono, 7703 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229-3900, to support further research to combat Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in honor of Jeannie.
