Timber workshops set for Feb. 8

The Texas Forest Service is sponsoring two workshops during February regarding landowners affected by the drought and the new timber tax laws.

The Texas Forest Service Drought Symposium will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Diboll.

The federal rules geared toward landowners who experienced a significant timber loss will be explained during a 2012 Timber Income and Property Tax Workshop, set for Friday, Feb. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Diboll. Registration is $70 and includes lunch and a workbook.
