Kathleen M. McElhatten Celaya passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at the age of 54 years, 2 months, and 1 day. She was born in San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 30, 1957, the daughter of James E. McElhatten and Matilda Krulatz. A Floresville resident for a short while, Kathleen formerly was a resident of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and a sister, Mary Catherine McElhatten.

Kathleen is survived by her father, James “Jim” McElhatten of Floresville; her daughters, Lauren Ashley Celaya of San Antonio and Christina Maria Otero of Cibolo; her sisters, Marguerite Ann Russell of Huntsville, Cynthia Lynn Warden of San Antonio, and Stephanie Leigh McElhatten of Floresville; her brother, James Martin McElhatten of Floresville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

A rosary was recited Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

Interment followed at 3 p.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
