Display quilts in museum exhibit
YOAKUM -- The Yoakum Heritage Museum invites area residents to display their new and antique quilts in its 24th annual Grandma’s Attic Quilt Show, which runs March 1 through April 30.
Last year, the exhibit included more than 125 quilts. If you have a quilt or other item that has not been displayed in the show recently, the museum offers the opportunity to showcase these items. The exhibit includes antique and new quilts of all sizes, quilted clothing, table runners, baby and lap quilts, and more.
Items to display may be dropped off at the museum in Yoakum. All items must include an information sheet, which will be attached for the duration of the exhibit. These are available from the museum. If your item is for sale, indicate this and your asking price. The museum receives 20 percent commission for items sold.
Presentation preparation begins Wednesday, Feb. 1.
The Yoakum Heritage Museum is located at 312 Simpson in Yoakum. Hours are Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 1-4 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
