ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

SAN ANTONIO -- Members of the Floresville Police Officers Association will host their seventh annual Catfish Tournament Saturday, March 31, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Calaveras Lake.

Teams are encouraged to sign up early, and entry forms are available at the Floresville Police Department. The entry fee is $125 for a team of up to four members.

On the day of the event, all teams must register in person from 5-7 a.m. and live wells and ice chests will be subject to inspection. At the tournament’s conclusion, all teams and their 25-fish limit must be in the weigh-in line by 3 p.m.

Following the weigh-ins, a barbecue lunch will be provided to all participants, and door prizes will be given away as well. Tournament winners will be announced, and cash prizes will be awarded to those finishing in the top five.
