By Ashlyn Talley
Earning the American FFA Degree is the biggest accomplishment any FFA member can earn and Ryan Hubbert has done just that.
On Oct. 22, 2011, former Floresville FFA member Ryan Hubbert received his degree. The qualifications for this degree are numerous and include being a member of the FFA after you graduate from high school, conducting 50 hours of community service, and continuing an animal project after graduation.
While a member of the Floresville FFA, Ryan excelled in many different activities. He was a member of three state qualifying livestock judging team and the 2009 state qualifying leadership team, and served as district vice president and chapter president. Ryan also was a recipient of a Texas FFA Scholarship sponsored by the Houston Livestock Show worth $15,000, a recipient of the San Antonio Livestock Show Rural Youth Award, and a National FFA Scholarship sponsored by Dodge Ram Trucks.
Ryan, a 2010 graduate of Floresville High School, is currently attending Texas A&M University, pursuing a degree in agricultural business. Ryan is the son of Robert and Wanda Hubbert of Tower Lake.
