A Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex offender from Fort Worth was arrested Wednesday as the result of an anonymous tip. The tipster will receive a $3,000 cash reward from the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor’s Office for providing information leading to the arrest Derrick Dion Christopher.

The 38-year-old high-risk sex offender was wanted for failure to register and probation violation. DPS Criminal Investigations Agents used the tip information to arrest the suspect without incident at a Fort Worth apartment complex Wednesday morning.

Christopher’s criminal history includes Indecency with a Child involving an 11-year-old girl in Tarrant County in 2007. He was also convicted of Injury to a Child for burning the tops of two juveniles’ feet with a bottle cap, Deadly Conduct for discharging a firearm and drug possession.

For more information, view his wanted poster at: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/wanted/sexoffenders/topTenSexOffenders.htm#;view=Individual%20Details/fugitive=3. (Close the Featured Fugitive box first.)

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders, http://www.dps.texas.gov/wanted/index.htm.

Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:

* Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
* Text the letters DPS--followed by your tip--to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
* Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.

All calls, texts or e-mails are anonymous, and tipsters will be given a tip number. You do not have to give your name.
