Offer condolences


Linda Chanelle Vela, 16, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012. She was born Feb. 23, 1995, in Laredo.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Lopez.

Linda is survived by her parents, Miguel Angel and Rachel (Gonzalez) Vela of La Vernia; her siblings, Jose A. Gamez of La Vernia, Mikey Vela of La Vernia, Tommy Jordan and wife Jennifer of Encinal, Oliver Jordan and wife Tiffany of Encinal, Jaime Soto and wife Sierra of Encinal, and Jaydah Perez; her grandmothers, Orfalinda Vela of Laredo, Teresa Gonzalez of Laredo, and Gloria Lopez of Encinal; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving family, church family, and many friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 12, from 1-2 p.m. in the Hope Assembly Church in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastor Bobby Nixon officiating, assisted by Pastor Andres Morales.

Interment followed in the Kicaster Cemetery in Adkins.
