Charles ‘Charlie’ Steven Bongiovi III

Charles “Charlie” Steven Bongiovi III, 58, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012. He was born on March 27, 1953, to Nora Louise (Wahl) and Charles Stephen Bongiovi II. Charlie was a devoted husband, father, and brother.

He loved spending time with his family and grandkids. Charlie often took his grandkids fishing and hunting. He loved spending time in his boat and deer blind. Charlie worked hard at his carpentry work and was a master of what he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Nita Laverne (Bonham) Bongiovi; his children, April Bongiovi Swartz and husband Jason, Charles Stephen Bongiovi IV and wife Carrie (Felux), and Sarah Bongiovi Wilkinson; his grandchildren, Cayden Patrick Swartz, Charles Stephen Bongiovi V, Natalie Renee Wilkinson, and Teagan Michelle Swartz; and his sisters, Barbara Ann Bongiovi Sekula and husband David, Cynthia Louise Bongiovi Stowe and husband Bob, and Margaret Ann Bongiovi Bass and husband William.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 12, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplain Gordon Lindley officiating.

Interment followed in the Kicaster Cemetery in La Vernia.
