Professional artist Mikki Senkarik has created an original oil painting just for Sacred Heart School's 7th annual Wine & Art Festival live auction, set for Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Floresville Event Center.

Senkarik invites others to join the effort supporting Sacred Heart School. "A dusting of bright white on the Shasta Daisies makes them snap to attention! The final touch is to add a few petals that have dropped to the ground. There is an old proverb from the south of France, 'A rooster brings success in the kitchen and happiness in the home.' Promise of Provence is ready to bring joy to its new owner and a smile to the faces of the students at the Sacred Heart School. We met several of them at a reception and the children are delightful. ... Jack and I are so excited to be part of this worthwhile project. We thank all of you for your support."

Learn more about Senkarik's paintings and see "Promise of Provence" in progress at: http://mikkisenkarik.wordpress.com/2012/02/06/promise-of-provence/.

Tickets to the Wine & Art Festival are available at the Wilson County News and Sacred Heart School. Sponsorships are also available. Call Kristen Weaver at 830-216-4519 or email kristen@wcn-online.com. Learn more about the school and Wine & Art sponsors at www.shsfloresville.org.

An artists guild? This could be the beginning ...

I agree, it is gorgeous. We seem to have wonderful artists in Wilson County. I wish we had an artists guild. I would love to take classes locally.
