Cattle, horse brand notice
The deadline to register or renew your cattle and horse brand with the county clerk’s office -- in the county where you run cattle -- is Wednesday, Feb. 29.
In accordance with Article 144.044 of the Agriculture Code “Recording,” Texas requires that brands be re-registered in the county or counties in which you operate every 10 years.
The Wilson County Clerk’s office, located in the Wilson County Courthouse, will process the renewals of your brands.
The recording fee will be $16 per brand location. Additional locations filed at the initial filing will be $5 per location.
On Thursday, March 1, all brands that have not been renewed will become “open brands” for the general public. Any brand that is not renewed becomes “void” on March 1, in accordance with the Agriculture code.
For more information, call 830-393-7309.
