To your health: Stress busters
Try these easy ways to create calm.
1. Take it outside.
Studies suggest that even short bouts of exercise--like a walk around the block or a game of tennis--can help ease anxiety by raising levels of mood-boosting neurotransmitters in the brain.
2. Put your hobbies on repeat.
Engaging in repetitive motions--such as gardening, grilling or knitting--can lower your blood pressure and reduce anxiety, says Harvard cardiologist Dr. Herbert Benson.
3. Watch funny movies.
Laughing offsets stress and protects the immune system by lowering levels of cortisol in the blood. Courtesy of Spry Magazine
