Bexar deputies probe school bus crash
SAN ANTONIO -- Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a three-vehicle wreck that sent two drivers to area hospitals. The crash occurred just after 7 a.m. today near the intersection of Loop 1604 and South Flores Road.
According to Investigator Louis Antu, a sheriff’s department spokesman, a pickup truck towing a goose-neck trailer was traveling westbound on Loop 1604 when the driver attempted to avoid a motorcycle traveling in front of him. The pickup truck driver swerved into the eastbound lane, where his vehicle collided with an oncoming Southside Independent School District bus.
The pickup truck’s driver was flown to University Hospital in San Antonio, while the motorcyclist was transported via ambulance to Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, Antu said. The bus driver and two students were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Names have not been released.
