ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Paula Kay Parker-Bell, 58, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to Charles “Chuck” Richard and Ida Eve (Frederick) Parker on Nov. 11, 1953, in San Antonio.

Paula was formerly employed with the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) and the Edwards Aquifer Authority and was involved with the VFW.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chuck Parker, and her brother, Mitch Parker.

Paula is survived by her husband, Jim Bell of Sutherland Springs; her son, Jason Vacek and wife Sheila of La Vernia; her daughter, Courtney Kalinoski and husband Jeff of San Antonio; her grandsons, Rankin Bell of D’Hanis and Gavin Kalinoski of San Antonio; her mother, Ida Parker of San Antonio; her brother, Wayne Parker and wife JoAnn of Denton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

Interment of her cremated remains will follow in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in La Vernia.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 78123-1718.
