ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Offer condolences


Jeanene Estelle Anderka Budnik passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. She was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Orange Grove, Texas, the daughter of Carl and Estelle Olsen Anderka. She was the youngest of three children.

Jeanene attended St. Cecilia’s School in San Antonio, graduated from high school in Castroville, and was married in Castroville. She then moved to San Antonio where she worked for TSO, Kotzebue, and property management companies. She was always held in high esteem for her work.

She married Billy J. Wood, district commander of the VFW, in 1990, and was an active member of the VFW 4815 and the Women’s Auxiliary. She had many years of happiness with him until his passing in 1998.

Jeanene had been a resident of La Vernia for the past two years. She will be interred alongside her mother, father, and brother in the St. Louis Cemetery in Castroville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy J. Wood; her sister, Marlene Anderka Morrison; and her brother, Carl Jerome Anderka.

Jeanene is survived by her son, Brian Ernest Bippert and beloved daughter-in-law Pascalle Bippert of La Vernia; and her grandchildren, Justin Bippert of Peoria and Chelsea and Brandon Bippert of La Vernia. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her brother-in-law, Eddie Morrison.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 3 p.m. in the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville.

Interment of her ashes will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.
