David and Ofilia “Phyllis” Cano Rodriguez celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, with a ceremony in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with Monsignor Adolfo Valdivia Aguirre officiating.

David, a native of Floresville, and Phyllis, a native of Poteet, were wed in the same church on Feb. 5, 1962.

Sharing in the celebration were their children, Fabian and Polly Castillo of San Antonio, David Rodriguez and Sebastian Jaramillo of Pleasanton, and Charles and Patricia Rodriguez of San Antonio. The couple have also been blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A reception was held in the Floresville Event Center. Guests came from Stephenville, Dallas, Fort Worth, Weatherford, McAllen, Houston, Seguin, Yorktown, and throughout Atascosa County.

Approximately 500 guests enjoyed a performance by the couple’s granddaughter, Tori Rose Rodriguez, and “Bad Reputation” of San Antonio, followed by “The Majestics” of Victoria.
