STOCKDALE -- When the state’s top high school swimmers descend on the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center this weekend for the state meet, Stockdale junior Clayton Lynn will be among them.

Lynn began swimming competitively with the Boys & Girls Club out of Floresville, but has been representing Stockdale and Brahma athletics since he was a freshman. He qualified for the regional meet each year of his high school career, but will compete in the state meet this year.

After another great showing at the district meet, Lynn qualified for the regional meet in Corpus Christi. There, Lynn set a new regional record in the 100-yard breaststroke, and eclipsed his competition in the 200-yard individual medley by three seconds.

Lynn will have his work cut out for him in Austin, though, as he competes against 15 of the state’s best swimmers in each event. It is the first year that Lynn has qualified for the state meet, but he is no stranger to pressure. He will have a great deal of support behind him, and everyone is excited to cheer him on.
