Each year, the La Vernia Lions Club sponsors a scholarship pageant for deserving young ladies in the La Vernia area.

Beyond talent and beauty, the Miss La Vernia Scholarship Pageant represents the ideals of our community. We teach and encourage healthy living, self-confidence, creative accomplishment, community service, and the pursuit of scholastic achievement among young ladies. Our goal is to inspire, motivate, and lift young ladies to the realization that they are strong, independent, capable people who can accomplish anything.

The 2012 Miss La Vernia Scholarship Pageant committee has been hard at work making preparations for the kickoff of this year’s Miss La Vernia Scholarship pageant. Any high school sophomore or junior age young lady who resides in the La Vernia Independent School District is eligible to participate in this year’s event that is scheduled for Friday, May 11.

Applications for this year’s pageant are now available at the La Vernia High School counselor’s office, the La Vernia Christian Teaching Center, or can be downloaded from the La Vernia Lions Club website at www.lavernialions.org.

The application deadline is Thursday, March 8. Completed applications may be submitted to the La Vernia High School counselor office, the La Vernia Christian Teaching Center, or mailed to “La Vernia Lions Club, PO Box 291, La Vernia, TX 78121.”
