1934-2012

Martin Joe Rauschuber, 77, a beloved husband and father, of St. Hedwig, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012. He was born July 8, 1934, to Charles Paul and Mary (Bierschienk) Rauschuber.

Martin had two passions in life, his family and his farm. His Sunday barbecues were full of laughter and joy for his family. His caring spirit was displayed through community involvement in the many benefits he organized and participated in. Martin was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, said his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Leonard, Walter, Ernest, and Hugo Rauschuber; and his sister, Dorothy McEachern.

Martin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma (Ondrias) Rauschuber; his children, Dorothy Stanush and husband Edward, Ronald Rauschuber and wife Donna, Gary Rauschuber, Diane Smith, Karen Wallace and husband David, and Denise Real and husband Craig; his grandchildren, Bryan Stanush, Shynelle Taggs, Shannan Sullivan, Brandon Smith, Tiffany Wallace Ward, Eric Rauschuber, Rhiannan Mueller, Aaron Real, Jared Rauschuber, Travis Real, Ryan Rauschuber, Ashley Rauschuber, and Michael Rauschuber; his great-grandchildren, Preston, Seth, and Mason Taggs, Keegan Ward, Zachary, Jaxon, and Chloe Smith, Micah, Maddox, and Jordan Sullivan, and Anabelle Ramon; his brothers, Charles and Gilbert Rauschuber; his sisters, Katherine Kotzur, Mildred Jupe, Elma Kerlick, and Rosalie Dear; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation took place Sunday, Feb. 26, from 6-7 p.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass was held Monday at 10 a.m. in the church, with Father Bill Zadora officiating.

Interment followed in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig.
