Our beloved mom and grandma, affectionately known as “Granny Farm,” Irene M. (Shedrock) Story Friedrich, 94, of La Vernia, Texas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012. Irene was born Sept. 5, 1917, in Adkins, the daughter of Thedore and Mary (Kylla) Shedrock.

Granny lived and enjoyed her life in San Antonio and then in La Vernia on her farm for many years. Her farm is where she adopted and cared for many animals and where her grandchildren enjoyed many summers. Granny’s spirit and her cheerful attitude were a joy to be around and her giggles will be greatly missed, her family said. We love you, Granny.

Visitation took place Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 5-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.
