CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Offer condolences

Felipe Guerrero Casarez, a resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 9:45 p.m. in the Santa Rosa Medical Center in San Antonio at the age of 72 years, 5 months, and 23 days. Felipe was born Aug. 23, 1939, in San Saba, the son of Ascencio and Aurelia Guerrero Casarez.
He attended schools in Chicago, and worked in maintenance with the Seguin school district for many years, before moving to Floresville in August 2011.
Felipe was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Sebastian Casarez, Enrique Casarez, and Guadalupe Casarez.
He is survived by his loving companion, Mary Helen Quintanilla of Floresville; his sister, Modesta Montano Casarez of Brownsville; and his daughter, Marisela Villarreal of Elmendorf.
Visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with a prayer service held at 7 p.m.
A funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the El Mesias United Methodist Church in Floresville, with Pastor Francisco Javier Briones officiating.
Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.
Serving as pallbearers were Paul Valadez, Jesse Seguin, Johnny DeLaZerda Jr., Andy Quintanilla, Johnny Quintanilla, and Johnny Saenz.
