Thursday, March 1, 2012, marks 70 years of marriage for Jimmy and Doris (Tipton) Flora. Jimmy came from San Antonio, Texas, to sweep Doris off her feet. Before he left for service in Europe, Jimmy and Doris were married.

Doris grew up in Floresville on F Street. Her dad, Jim Tipton, owned and operated the blacksmith shop and later the Humble Service Station in Floresville, while her mom, Jettie Lou Cale Tipton, raised Doris and younger daughter, Jamie.

Jimmy and Doris celebrate family and life on a regular basis with daughter Patty Flora Sitchler and husband Alvin of La Vernia, daughter Brenda Flora Dunn and husband Larry of Austin, and son Cliff Flora of San Antonio.

Their grandchildren are Kristen Sitchler of Austin, Jason Sitchler and wife Alexis of Littleton, Colo., Jonathan Dunn and wife Kristen of Austin, Joel Dunn of San Angelo, Angela Dunn of Austin, and Bethany Dunn of Austin. The newest addition to the family is great-grandson and namesake, Isaac James Sitchler.

Jimmy and Doris reside in their home in San Antonio.
