BOERNE -- After another incredible year, the basketball season has come to an end for the Beaverettes. Falls City made a great run into the playoffs, but fell to Mason 68-47 in the regional quarterfinals, ending the team’s season.

The Beaverettes began the game with a feverish pace, scoring 19 first-quarter points en route to a 19-16 advantage. Mason came back strong in the second quarter, though, outscoring Falls City 17-8 to take a 33-27 lead into halftime.

The scoring pace remained brisk throughout the third, as Mason had its best scoring quarter of the night and tacked on another 19 points. Falls City picked up its play from the second, throwing another 15 points on the board.

The Beaverettes trailed by 10 to start the final stanza, but were still very much in the game. Unfortunately for Falls City, Mason outscored the Beaverettes 16-5 in the final eight minutes of play and advanced to the regional tournament with a 68-47 win.

Camari Crawford led Falls City with 18 points on the night. Ashleigh Blocker scored 11 points during the regional quarterfinal contest, Alysson Bluhm and Haleigh Blocker each scored 5 points, and Kayla Kotara dropped in 4. Kayla Purcell scored 2 points and Kaitlyn Jarzombek dropped in a free throw.

The Beaverettes have a lot to be proud of this season. In addition to making an unbeaten run through their district schedule, the team ended its season with an overall record of 29 wins and just four losses.
