The Fancy Feathers 4-H Club’s fifth annual Open Chicken Show will be held Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Comal County Fairgrounds in New Braunfels.

Although this is an American Poultry Association/American Bantam Association sanctioned show, both youth and back-yard chicken enthusiasts are welcome to enter and/or attend.

The show is primarily member-run. Fancy Feathers 4-H Club focuses on raising, breeding, and/or showing fancy chickens -- not just broilers.

The show will feature a drawing, silent auctions, a concession stand, a youth showmanship competition, and a Home Depot kids workshop. Attendees can participate in a special cluck-off contest, where contestants show their best imitation of a hen or rooster. The winner gets a trophy and half of total cluck-off entry fees.
