STAMFORD, Conn. -- The National Society for the Gifted and Talented (NSGT) is pleased to offer $10,000 in scholarships for Floresville area students to apply toward selected summer programs.

Each year, the award is given to outstanding students who demonstrate excelled ability in their field of interest.

Ten scholarships are being offered by the NSGT board of trustees -- six at $1,000, six at $500 each, and four at $250 each -- and will be used by the deserving student to help pay tuition for a gifted summer program of their choice.

Students can download and complete the scholarship application at www.nsgt.org/scholarships.asp. A team of educators in the field of gifted education will review the applications and choose the scholarship winners.

The deadline for applications is Sunday, April 1. Winners will be notified on Sunday, April 15.

For more information, call 1-800-572-6748 or email info@nsgt.org.
