David Lee Reeves, 66, passed away in his home in Floresville, Texas, Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012. David was born April 1, 1945, in Carlsbad, N.M., the son of Earl Lee and Irene Mitty (Colbath) Reeves.

As an auto mechanic, David worked for more than 29 years at Ottmers Auto Service Inc. on Rigsby Avenue in San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lee Reeves.

David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathryn Reeves of Floresville; his sons, David Edgar Earl Reeves of Atascosa and Douglas Lee Reeves and wife Chayle of Windcrest; his daughter, Pamula Jean Reeves-Barker and husband Rick of Floresville; his grandchildren, Tyler, Kristen, Manda, Callie, and Sierra; his great-grandson, Brayden; his mother, Irene Reeves of Pipe Creek; his brother, Daniel Reeves of Pipe Creek; his sister, Diana Nell Maher of Pipe Creek; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large, loving family.

Visitation was held Saturday, March 3, from 9-10 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Bishop James Duke officiating.

Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.

Serving as pallbearers were David Edgar Earl Reeves, Douglas Lee Reeves, Daniel Reeves, Richard “Rick” Barker, Matt Moffit, and Frank Lamascus.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
