1921-2012

Lottie Lucille (Pieniazek) Brietzke went to be with her Lord Sunday, March 4, 2012. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, to Michael W. and Sophie A. (Liejeski) Pieniazek.

Lottie was a lifelong resident of Adkins, Texas. She attended the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic School. She was a lifelong member of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Society. She grew up on the farm and helped her family run the farming and ranching business. She loved cattle ranching and remained on the same property until her death.

Lottie loved flowers and enjoyed spending time in her colorful country flower garden, and she enjoyed having a bountiful vegetable garden. Her priorities in life were her family and her faith. She worked for Finesilver Clothing Company, and later for Universal Bookbindery in San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Brietzke; and her brother, George Pieniazek.

Lottie is survived by her daughter, Doris A. Slay-Barber and husband H. Gene Barber; her sons, Bobbie J. Brietzke, Roy A. Brietzke and wife Carol, Alan M. Brietzke, and Larry A. Brietzke; her daughter, Velma “Reesie” M. Howell and husband Audie; her grandchildren, Galen “G.L.” Slay Jr., Stephanie Dixon and husband Preston, Bryan Brietzke, Cody Brietzke, Alyssa and Malcolm Brietzke, and Courtney, Audie J. “A.J.,” and Kelsey Howell; and great-grandchildren Blayne Brietzke and Owen Dixon.

The family wishes to thank Belinda Guzman for her dedicated care and faithful attention until Ms. Lottie’s death.

Thanks also to the services provided by the Nurses In Touch Hospice staff.

A recitation of the rosary will take place in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig on Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church, with Father Bill Zadora officiating.

Interment will follow in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Steeple Fund or Scholarship Fund at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, P.O. Box 100, St. Hedwig, TX 78152.
