Businesses are in limbo causing economic stagnation because of a mesh of regulations and restrictions, health-care costs and gasoline prices are spiraling out of control, and unemployment continues at record-high levels.

Yet every debate or interview with a Republican candidate for president of the United States is faced with -- not questions about solving these problems -- but with questions about birth control. It is the hottest topic in America today.

Even Rush Limbaugh was drawn into the controversy over remarks he made about a Georgetown University law student who has made it her mission to have hers and other women’s birth control paid for by us taxpayers. Not to be left out, President Obama has entered the fray. (That is to say if he was not responsible for stirring the pot in the first place.)

The president initiated the contraception debate after his administration’s ruling required health insurance to cover contraception for all employees without a co-pay. He will give the keynote address at the commencement at a women’s college in New York in May, bumping the previously scheduled speaker from her spot. He wants to keep the subject alive.

The subject of birth control is a diversion from the real problems in the country, and people are being manipulated by a complicit media and the “Let’s Get Limbaugh” (LGL) crowd. Limbaugh has apologized, but this is not even the issue. There is a double standard at work here.

It’s OK for conservatives to be trashed. Recall Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Sarah Palin, and others getting savaged by liberals? It’s OK for a national television show to be called “Good Christian Bitches.”

It’s OK for the media to trash Sarah Palin and her entire family, and it’s OK for Ed Schultz to call Ingraham a “talk slut.” But it’s not OK for Limbaugh to call the student, Sandra Fluke, a slut.

She’s just a student, you say? No. She is an activist, and she is not 23 as first reported, but 30. She was a “plant” for their cause, and was enrolled in Georgetown University with a feminist, activist goal, but the media jumped on the story without vetting her background. The LGL crowd took it viral, demanding advertisers drop sponsorship from his show.

But did you hear any protests about the disgusting tirade this week from liberal radio host Mike Malloy? His comments concerning the victims of the recent tornadoes were beyond ugly: “Their God, if this is the way they want to look at it, keeps smashing them into little grease spots on the pavement, in ... you know ... in the Bible Belt.”

How sick is that?

Malloy was not responding to something they had said or done, but actually was mocking the deaths of people who were the innocent victims of the tornadoes last week in the Midwest. It’s OK as long as it’s against conservatives and Christians.

There is an obvious double standard.

The president went so far as to offer his support for Fluke, telling her that she had been the victim of “inappropriate personal attacks” from Rush.

Does he think the vile comments about the tornado victims are appropriate? What will he do to come to the defense of these tornado victims?

Keep Rush on the radio. He is doing more damage to the GOP than if Mitt and Rick were caught a high class house of ill repute!

You cannot deduce a persons faith through their actions, we are all sinners. Faith without deeds is imperfect but it does not equate to atheism, which is the absence of faith.
