U.S. 87 south of La Vernia remains closed in both directions following a fatal collision at approximately 6 a.m. today. Dead is 46-year-old Ernesto Marquez of Stockdale. Also involved was an 18-wheeler driven by 47-year-old Ronnie Montoya of San Antonio.

Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol continue their investigation into the crash.

hey new guy purchase a copy of the only newspaper in the county they need your money.....why wont someone start a newspaper in wilson county so the public can get the answers and the real breaking news, my prayers for the familys loss.

Omg y'all don't know what ur talking about the man had a blow out and was changing his tire on the side of the road when the 18 wheeler swerved and hit his truck the man was in fetal poistion on road when 2 cars ran him over ... More ›

Everyone jumped the gun on the 18 wheeler. According to Express-News, the pickup drifted into the path of the 18 wheeler and the driver was ejected because he did not have his seat belt on.
