EAST CENTRAL -- After a successful showing at its own meet, the East Central Hornet track team is on track for another successful season. The boys finished first in the overall team standings, and several athletes took home some hardware. The girls team was also in action, and finished seventh in the team standings.

The boys team finished first with more than 170 team points, beating out the teams from Judson, Wagner, Brennan, Stevens, Churchill, Clark, FEAST, Madison, Seguin, Steele, Roosevelt, and Southwest. Madison won the girls team title, followed by Judson, O’Connor, Stevens, Churchill, and FEAST. The Lady Hornets finished ahead of Brennan, Clark, Seguin, St. Mary’s Hall, Roosevelt, Southwest, and Steele. Individual results by East Central athletes are as follows:

Boys track events

3,200-meter run:

•Javier Salas, 1st, 9:50.00.

1600-meter run:
