Jessica Puente, 15, of Stockdale, an active member of the Wilson County 4-H Club, won big in the sheep skillathon held Feb. 14 during the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. For her efforts, she was awarded a $10,000 scholarship.

This contest uses participants’ knowledge of the sheep industry, and several youth were recognized for their outstanding results by being rewarded with a 2012 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Scholarship.

Jessica hopes to eventually attend Texas A&M University to major in agricultural business or pre-law.
