AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are good on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in the reeds. Striped bass are good down rigging silver and gold spoons near the jetty and dam. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, and shrimp near Dead Tree Point. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait near the dam. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.



BUCHANAN Water clear; 55--59 degrees; 26.98' low. Black bass are good on pumpkin JDC Craws, hard jerkbaits, and watermelon Whacky Sticks on jigheads off points in 10--20 feet. Striped bass are fair trolling crankbaits and Curb's striper jigs, and drifting live bait from near Paradise Point in 20--25 feet. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies, Shad Raps, and live bait near Cedar Point. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 10--20 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.



CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastic worms and crankbaits near the dam. Striped bass are fair cut perch and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are fair down rigging silver spoons near the dam. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait. Yellow catfish are slow.



CANYON LAKE Water clear; 55--59 degrees; 9.43' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse jerkbaits, watermelon Curb's hair jigs, and Scoundrel worms along break lines and ledges in 12--20 feet. Striped bass are fair trolling white Curb's striper jigs and vertically jigging Spoiler Shads. White bass are good on minnows and Li'l Fishies along the main river channel in 30 feet. Smallmouth bass are good on pumpkinseed curl tail grubs, JDC smoke/red flake tubes, and chartreuse drop shot worms over rock piles in 10--20 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.



CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 57--61 degrees; 12.48' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and buzzbaits in grass. White bass are good on minnows and Li'l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.



COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 2.35' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics in 10--20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with nightcrawlers, liver, and shrimp in 8--15 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch in 8--20 feet.



FALCON Water stained; 58--62 degrees; 21.27' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red 6" YUM Dingers, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp, stinkbait, and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.



GRANGER Water murky; 56--60 degrees; 1.12' low. Black bass are fair on small crankbaits upriver. White bass are good on small white jigs and river minnows near Dickerson's. Crappie are fair on minnows upriver at night, and on tube jigs during the day. Blue catfish are good on prepared baits on rod & reel, and on juglines baited with shad. Yellow catfish are slow.



LBJ Water clear; 55--60 degrees; 0.35' low. Black bass are good on watermelon Curb's jigs and chartreuse Rat--L--Traps from docks. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on silver Pirk Minnows and Spoiler Shads in main lake channels. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and nightcrawlers. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.



TRAVIS Water lightly stained; 55--60 degrees; 49.82' low. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits, flukes, and crawfish crankbaits in 6--18 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on chartreuse crankbaits, white grubs, and minnows in 10--25 feet. Crappie are good on minnows in 10--20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.



WALTER E. LONG Water lightly stained. Black bass are fair on minnows, crankbaits, and chartreuse soft plastic worms. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows. White bass are good on minnows and chartreuse jigs. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good on the King Ranch shoreline on Corkies and topwaters. Black drum are good in the Land Cut on crabs.



BOLIVAR Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass on crabs.



CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Black drum are good in the Humble Channel at night on crabs and table shrimp.



FREEPORT Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs. Black drum are good in Cold Pass and San Luis pass on cracked blue crabs. Black drum are redfish are fair to good on live shrimp over reefs.



EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and Catch 2000s. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.



WEST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair to good in the mud and shell on topwaters and Corkies in the afternoon. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp.



EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair to good for drifters in the afternoon on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.



MATAGORDA Redfish are fair to good in Oyster Lake on shrimp. Trout are fair on shell and grass on soft plastics. Black drum are fair to good at the jetty on crabs.



PORT ARANSAS Black drum are good in the Shrimpboat Channel on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp.



PORT ISABEL Snook are fair in the Brownsville Ship Channel on free--lined shrimp. Trout and redfish are fair to good in South Bay on live shrimp. Sheepshead and mangrove snapper are fair around the causeway on shrimp.



PORT MANSFIELD Trout are fair to good on topwaters around sand and grass holes. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on shrimp and Gulps.



PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are good on topwaters over soft mud in waist--deep water in San Antonio Bay. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp. Redfish are good in the back lakes for waders tossing gold spoons and Gulps.



ROCKPORT Black drum are good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp. Redfish are fair on the Estes Flats on mullet and shrimp.



NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good in the river on live shad. Redfish are good in the marsh on small topwaters and Gulps



SOUTH SABINE Sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair around the Reef on live shrimp. Drifters have found good trout around mullet and shell.



SOUTH PADRE Black drum, redfish and sheepshead have been taken at the jetty. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on DOA Shrimp and Gulps.



TEXAS CITY Sheepshead and sand trout are good around the piers on shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on shrimp and crabs in Moses Lake.



TRINITY BAY Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish are good at the spillway on crabs and mullet.
