Virginia Lea “Ginger” Hill passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the age of 61. She was born Sept. 10, 1950, the daughter of J.B. and Billie Ruth Hill.

Ginger had a lifelong passion for cooking, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.B. Hill; and her brothers, Jimmy Don Hill, Jay B. Hill, and Joel Wayne Hill.

Ginger is survived by her mother, Billie Ruth Hill; her daughters, Veronica Rutherford and husband Jason and Victoria Escobar; her son, Ira Smoot and wife Allison; her grandchildren, Blyss, Tyla, Bryton, Ford, Mason, and Jatin; her siblings, Bonnie Lauderdale and husband Doyle “Moe”, Jarrell Hill and wife Janice, Joyce Soell and husband Charlie, and Ramon Navarro and wife Connie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, March 18, from 6-9 p.m. in the Mission Park South in San Antonio, Texas.

A funeral service was held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.
