ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Stockdale varsity, JV tennis teams hit tournament trail

STOCKDALE -- Members of the Stockdale High School varsity and junior varsity teams are rolling along through the season, following their first scheduled tournament on Feb. 16.

The Brahma and Lady Brahma tennis players of Stockdale were scheduled to participate in the Central Texas Tennis Academy’s fifth annual tournament. Unfortunately, the rains began to fall following junior varsity action, and the varsity tournament was canceled.

During junior varsity play, Jacob Cardenas advanced to the second round of the main draw in boys singles. Perry Bone and Tyler Middleton played in the first round of the main draw and the first round of consolation in boys doubles. In girls doubles play, Katarina Wehmeyer and Shelley Oltmanns advanced to the semifinals of consolation.

On Feb. 23-24, the teams attended the Central Texas Tennis Academy San Marcos Open.

In the junior varsity girls doubles division, Wehmeyer and Oltmanns advanced to the quarterfinal round of the main draw. Sarah Holguin did the same. Bone and Middleton participated in the first round of the main draw and the first round of consolation in junior varsity boys doubles. Kelsea Perez participated in the first round of the main draw and the first round of consolation in girls singles, and Lauryn Coston advanced to the semifinal round of consolation.

In varsity action, Jordan Jackson finished second in boys singles, and Tristan Marquez advanced to the consolation final and finished as the runner-up. In doubles play, Kelson Alderman and Patrick Washburn advanced to the consolation semifinals, as did Landon Coston and Dylan Dunn. Kristen Salazar and Anthony Bennett advanced to the second round of the main draw in mixed doubles. Jessica Puente participated in the first round of the main draw and the first round of consolation in girls singles play.

The Stockdale tennis program went on to host a varsity tournament March 1-2.

In boys singles action, Jackson finished in first place. Landon Coston and Dunn placed third in boys doubles, and Jacob Cardenas and Bennett finished as the consolation runners-up in boys doubles. Salazar finished in third place in girls singles. Jessica Puente finished as the consolation champion.

Both the varsity and junior varsity teams returned to action March 5-6, as the teams traveled to Cuero for another tournament.

Jackson once again finished first in varsity boys singles play, and Landon Coston participated in the first round of the main draw, and then competed and won the “and one” consolation round in varsity singles. Alderman and Washburn advanced to the second round of varsity boys doubles play, and Bennett and Cardenas participated in the main draw of boys doubles, then moved to the “and one” consolation round where they won their match. Salazar competed in the first round of the varsity girls singles division, then moved to the “and one” consolation round where she won her match.

Bone and Middleton participated in the first round of the junior varsity boys doubles division, then moved to the consolation round and won their “and one” consolation match. Holguin and Haley Wallace placed third in the girls doubles division, while Wehmeyer and Oltmanns advanced to the second round of doubles play.
