Floyd T. Ehlert passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Jourdanton, Texas, at the age of 70 years, 2 months, and 12 days. He was born to Edgar and Iola Ehlert on Dec. 25, 1941, in Waller.

Floyd was a member of the American Legion Post, and was a resident of Floresville for a short time, and a former resident of Cotulla.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Ehlert.

Floyd is survived by his mother, Iola Ehlert of Cotulla; his daughter, Tracy Rico and husband Robert of San Antonio; his son, Steve Ehlert and wife Rachelle of Floresville; his brothers, Wayne Ehlert and wife Obie of Cotulla and Bryan Ehlert and wife Virginia; grandchildren Gabriella Rico, Alyssa Rico, Alex Rico, Matthew Ehlert, Adam Wright, and Sarah Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville on Thursday, March 8, at 7 p.m.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the First United Methodist Church in Cotulla with the Rev. C.J. Tillinghast officiating.

Interment followed in the Cotulla Cemetery in Cotulla.
