Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Emily A. Korzekwa of Falls City, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the age of 85 years and 9 months. She was born June 17, 1926, in Kosciusko, the daughter of Ben and Cecilia Kotara Jaskinia.

She went to school in Kosciusko and was a proud graduate of the class of 1944. She married Leonard Anton Korzekwa on April 17, 1945, in Kosciusko. She was a member of the Falls City Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Rosary Society. She was a devoted wife and mother who spent her entire life caring for her family.

Emily was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her stepmother, Agnes Jaskinia; her sisters, Bina Pruski and Helen Rapstine; her brothers-in-law, Edmund Pruski, Emil Pruski, and Henry Rapstine; and her grandson, Scott Lowak.

She is survived by her sister, Rosie Pruski; her brothers, Anton Jaskinia and wife Mary Lou and Thomas Jaskinia and wife Agnes; her daughters, Elaine Zaiontz and husband Thomas of Adkins, Theresa Lowak and husband Milton of St. Hedwig, and Lori Lyssy and husband Roger of Falls City; and her sons, Leonard I. Korzekwa and wife Karen Kim of Falls City, Anthony Korzekwa and wife Patricia of Falls City, and Ronald Korzekwa and wife Sandy of Falls City. Emily is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Margaret Eckhardt and husband Allen of New Braunfels, Tammy Armstrong and husband Don of Adkins, Sally Guess and husband Mark of San Antonio, Michael Lowak and wife Louise of La Vernia, David Lowak and wife Marla of San Antonio, Steven Lowak and wife Christi of New Braunfels, Kasey Korzekwa of Falls City, Kameron Korzekwa and wife Lauren of Kingsville, Pamela Sanchez and husband Martin of Hobson, Kimberly Lyssy and husband Bradley of San Antonio, Russell Korzekwa and fiancée Cassi Wallace of Falls City, Keith and Amanda Korzekwa of San Antonio and Rachael and Ryan Lyssy of Falls City; and 15 great-grandchildren, Megan and Clayton Eckhardt, Sterling and Dylan Armstrong, Mackenzie and Campbell Guess, Anne and Brian Lowak, Kalina and Oren Lowak, Gabriel and Nicholas Bautizta, Madison and Allie Sanchez, and Emma Lyssy.

Visitation was held Sunday, March 25, at 5 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Falls City.

Serving as pallbearers were Michael Lowak, David Lowak, Steven Lowak, Kasey Korzekwa, Kameron Korzekwa, Russell Korzekwa, and Ryan Lyssy.
