1956-2012

Jerry “Butch” Kent Carver Jr., 55, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012. He was born Dec. 10, 1956, the son of Floy Marie and Jerry Kent Carver Sr.

Jerry loved to fish and loved going to the coast with his family. He liked to hunt and enjoyed spending time at the family’s deer lease in Tilden.

He loved his four children more than anything and tried to be a strong spiritual leader for them. We will cherish his memory the rest of our lives, his family said.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Floy Marie Carver; and his sister, Sheryl Carver.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Shanna Carver DeLeon and husband Jason of Lubbock; his sons, Brandon Carver of Schertz, Garrett Carver of La Vernia, and Grant Carver of La Vernia; former spouse Peggy Carver of La Vernia; his grandchildren, Heather Lynn Towner and Mathew Kent Towner, both of Lubbock; his father, Jerry Kent Carver Sr.; his brothers, Leland Carver and wife Martine and Michael Carver and wife Robbye, all of San Antonio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas.
