The March Floresville High School female student of the month is Victoria Bayer. Victoria is the 18-year-old daughter of Diane and Kenneth Bayer.

Victoria’s strengths are positivity, futuristic, relator, woo, and communication.

Victoria has excelled in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been named to the A-B Honor Roll. She was also named student of the month for dual credit history.

Victoria has also been a leader among her peers. She is a member of the Texas Association of Future Educators and Student Council and served on the prom committee her junior year. As a member of Link Crew, Victoria serves as a mentor for incoming freshmen to assist them in making a smooth transition into high school. As a sophomore, she was the class historian.

On the softball diamond, Victoria has earned numerous accolades. As a member of the varsity softball team, Victoria plays the position of pitcher and is this year’s team captain. She was named to the Academic All-District Team for the past three years. She was named 2nd Team All-District her freshman year and 1st Team All-District her sophomore and junior years. She was chosen as the Marion Tournament MVP her freshman and sophomore years, Harlandale Tournament MVP her junior year, and the Goliad Tournament All-Tournament team her sophomore year. In addition, Victoria played volleyball her freshman year. She is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Victoria is also active in her community. She has participated in highway and cemetery cleanup projects, as well as Hits for Hope. Victoria has volunteered her time to the sheriff’s Blue Santa Program and has spent time visiting Seton Home and ringing the bell outside stores for the Salvation Army.

Upon graduation in June, Victoria will attend Lubbock Christian University on a softball scholarship. She plans to take pre-med classes to become a physical therapist.

The March male student of the month is Kevin Richards. Kevin is the 18-year-old son of Ann and Gregg Richards.

Kevin’s strengths are arranger, command, individualization, responsibility, and maximizer. He has used these strengths to excel in the classroom. Kevin received the Outstanding Student of the Year award for Algebra II and sociology. In addition, he was inducted into the National Honor Society his sophomore year and received recognition for perfect attendance his sophomore and junior years.

Kevin is also active in extracurricular activities and is a leader among his peers. He has been a member of the Texas Association of Future Educators for the past four years and currently serves as the organization’s president. Kevin has previously served as the organization’s Student Council representative. In addition to TAFE, Kevin is a four-year member of the football and track teams and was named Academic All-District and Academic All-State Honorable Mention.

When not busy with academics and extracurricular activities, Kevin is volunteering his time in the community. He has participated in Christmas toy drives and highway cleanup projects and has helped collect money and supplies for the victims of the Bastrop wildfires. Kevin also helped teachers move into their classrooms at the beginning of the year and worked in the concession stand for the Athletic Boosters.

Kevin has spent time the past two summers working for the Floresville Independent School District.

Upon graduation in June, Kevin plans to attend Sam Houston State University where he will pursue a math degree with a minor in education. Kevin’s goal is to become a high school math teacher and coach.
