CPS Energy invites high school juniors who live within the utility’s service territory to apply for the Student Assistance for Education (SAFE) Program.

SAFE is designed to promote higher education for professional careers in the utility industry by generating interest in math, engineering, computer information systems, and business-related fields at the high school level. Six students will be selected to participate in the SAFE program based upon the student’s application, interview, references, and ability to meet all program criteria. Selected students will receive hands-on learning experience through paid summer employment at the end of their junior and senior years, personal development through mentoring, and college financial assistance through a $5,000 scholarship.

Students interested in participating should contact their high school counselor, or apply online at cpsenergy.com.

Application deadline for the 2012 SAFE Program is Friday, March 30.

For more information, visit www.cpsenergy.com.
