Resident, apparently you haven't followed the case very closely, because you have the facts wrong, according to Zimmerman's statement, the 911 tape and timeline, and eye witness statements and police report regarding the injuries to Zimmerman that they observed.

It is not harrassment to merely "watch" someone who you believe to be suspicious. Zimmerman told the dispatcher on the 911 tape that Trayvon had run off. He then went back to the front of the appartments to look for an address. There is no indication at all, besides mere speculation and fantasy that he chased Trayon, harrassed Trayon, or even followed Trayvon after he said OK, when the dispatcher said, "we don't need you to do that".

In fact, if he had been chasing Trayvon, why did the dispatcher ask, "are you following him?" He would have asked, "are you chasing him?" You would hear heavy breathing on the tape, which you don't.

Where do you get your facts? What makes you think that race had anything to do with Zimmerman's initial suspicion of Trayvon? Please explain.

"This is what we have. Whatever the process bears out we'll be forced to live with it."

Yeah, I recall how people "lived with it" after the jury acquitted the officers involved in the Rodney King case.
So, we'll see how it goes this time, when, due to a total lack of evidence, the jury acquits Zimmerman and Sanford erupts in flames.

That George Zimmerman followed a completely innocent person, called the police about this individual and then ignored the polices request to leave it be is all George Zimmermans fault.

When I say that Zimmerman instigated this incident I mean void of his harassment, Trayvon wouldn't be dead.

Harrassment?? Yes..if you are followed by a car and then the driver leaves the car and chases after you; I would consider that harassment.

And if anyone is so ignorant as to beleive that this has nothing to do with race than America is far worse off than any of us beleives. If that was a white teenager would Zimmerman have even followed him. WOuld he have claimed the kid was on drugs (on the 911 tape) and would he have felt it necessary to leave his vehicle and give chase despite the dispatchers directions not to do so????

Rock n Chair; if you know of another country with a better justice system perhaps you'd prefer to live there. This is what we have. Whatever the process bears out we'll be forced to live with it.

In the end, if Zimmerman had handled things differently he wouldn't likely be in this predicament.

How? By attempting to protect his neighborhood from criminals? I wasn't aware that it is a crime to follow someone that you have reason to believe might not belong there and might be committing a crime. Being wrong in that suspicion is also not a crime. It happens all the time. No charges could be filled for either action on the part of Zimmerman. He did the right thing. He called 911 and tried, but apparently failed to keep Trayvon under surveillance until the cops arrived.

However, if Trayvon had just simply continued on his way, none of this would have happened. Why is it somehow worse for Zimmerman to try to protect his neighborhood, than for Trayvon to confront and attack someone for just following him? Why did that anger Trayvon so much that he felt justified in coldcocking Zimmerman, knocking him to the ground, and then slamming his head into the sidewalk?

"But the trial will use our justice system to come to the fairest conclusion our society can come to...."

Yeah, just like the O.J. trial....A trail of the victim's blood leading from the crime scene to his bedroom, and he walked out of the courtroom free as a bird with a smirk on his face. You call that justice?

Jury nullification can work both ways.

What worries me is the chilling effect this case will have on every neighborhood watch program, every security guard, and every person in the country confronted with a similar situation. This is how it happens that 100 people can witness a vicious, heinous crime and standby and not even call the cops, let alone attempt to intervene.

What kind of society are we creating when people are afraid to protect themselves and the property?

It does seem strange that the first group of prosecutors who looked at this found not enough evidence to charge Zimmerman at all and this group found enough evidence to charge second degree murder. Big difference. This special prosecutor made some comments that indicate she may not be without bias in favor of the victim. Hopefully justice will be done in this matter without taint by the media circus and race-baiters.

Attorney Angela Corey, special prosecutor for the Trayvon Martin case seeks "justice for Trayvon." Is anyone seeking justice for George Zimmerman or will his future be at the mercy of the mobs? The victim’s family are not the only ones entitled to the facts and a factual defense. By making baseless inflammatory statements and prejudging, everyone from the president on down is guilty of prejudicing public opinion to the detriment of Zimmerman. His life can be considered over whether or not he is guilty and whether or not he is convicted. This will haunt him forever.

Hasn't everyone figured out that it is perfectly acceptable to persecute Christains and whites? I mean how long have we had affirmative action? How long has it been a perfectly acceptable practice to have a "Hispanic Chamber of Commerce". The double standard is simply a part of a society that seeks to give everyone but the white man a leg up; because years ago a bunch of priveleged white men came to this chunk of land we call the United States and settled here. Their legacy to all white men rich and poor is one that precludes even the concept of organizing to further "our" cause.

But that's just a fact of life, I don't need a leg up. I've worked for everything I have and that's just fine with me. I'll be content of heart and soul when I meet my maker and face my children.

That being said; I'm tickled pink to see George Zimmerman charged. He instigated this entire situation. We'll never know EXACTLY what transpired, but some eye witnesses can shed light on parts of the actual confrontation. Perhaps the prosecutors insights to that testimony prompted the charges.

As for 4th Generation Texan. You need to get your nose checked if you really think you can "smell blacks...from 1000 miles away". Also, you should really familiarize with the facts before proving to us all that you're both ignorant and racist. Trayvon was staying with his dad's girlfriend in that neighborhood and had EVERY right to be there. Futhermore, I've been white since birth as have the 5 generations of Czeck's that preceeded me.

I'm happy for your kids 4th Generation....that they wouldn't be in a neighborhood the don't "belonged" in after dark. But this kid did belong.

When you follow someone in a vehicle, exit the vehicle and chase him...you ARE the aggressor. But the trial will use our justice system to come to the fairest conclusion our society can come to......and God will take care of the rest.

Christopher Newsom and Channon Gail Christian were tortured, raped and murdered in 2007 by five blacks in Knoxville. If anything THIS should have outraged a nation. It might have been a hate crime, but it was not pursued as such.

I predict; change of venue, then stall until after the election. The mob will suddenly disappear and Zimmerman will be acquitted. There is no evidence of malice or "depraved mind". Not a shred.
