Marion, Tx.,(March 31st, 2012) After a strange, mysterious opening night for San Antonio Raceways IHRA Nitro Jam Friday night, drivers, teams and fans returned to the second night of Nitro Jam action. Amosoil Prostalgia Funny Cars, Pro Fuel Dragsters, Fuel Altereds and Nitro Harley’s headlined the show, with Jet Dragsters and Funny Cars, Monster Trucks and a Jet Truck also in competition on the 1Ž4 mile track just outside San Antonio.

After one round of qualifying in the Top Sportsman and Top Dragsters on Friday night, all other Sportsman classes (Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod classes, plus ET Box and No-Box along with the Jr. Dragsters) beginning the day with two rounds of time trials to help set the ladders in each class, as part of the Summit Pro-Am Touring Series.

The second hosting of the newest Nitro Jam version saw a near capacity crowd, with four deep along the fence come through the gates. A near record number of entrants made this year’s Nitro Jam one of the tracks most successful events.

First alternate, Mitch King(Galveston, Tx.), who has made passes on San Antonio Raceway in a Top Fuel Car over past years, found his Brand X Prostalgia Funny Car equally up to the task against Mike Savage(Candies & Hughes) in the finals. King was off the light first by a tenth(.10) and used nearly all of that to hold off Savage, who was .09 faster, but ran out of race track trying to run him down.

The Nitro Harley final saw Jake Stordeur with a slight advantage off the line, but he began to have trouble giving Jay Turner the chance to go past to pick up the win.

In a Nitro Jam first, the Jet Funny Car of RichHannah(Gojo) paired off with the Prostalgia Funny Car of Dale Pulde(War Eagle). Hannah took the wins in both rounds with both being good side by side battles.
