1942-2012

Jerry Wayne McGuffin, 70, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012, in Houston, Texas. He was born March 7, 1942, in Stockdale, the son of M.C. and Melba Rice McGuffin.

J.W. was a fishing tool operator in the oil industry. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe McGuffin.

J.W. is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Tupa McGuffin of Victoria; his daughter, Dawn McGuffin Nixon and husband Andrew of Houston; his son, Wesley Alan McGuffin and wife Kim of Katy; his brother, John McGuffin and wife Mary Ann of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Adan McGuffin and Blakelee McGuffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 29, from 6-8 p.m., in the Grace Funeral Home in Victoria.

A funeral service was held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale, with the Honorable Marvin Quinney officiating.

Interment followed in the Steele Branch Cemetery in Stockdale.

Serving as pallbearers were Monty McGuffin, Andrew Nixon, Dale Anderle, Lonnie Quinney, Marvin Null, and John Odom. Honorary pallbearer was Robert Quinney.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital Cardiology Vascular Unit, P.O. Box 4332, Houston, TX 77210.
